Abstract

The present invention relates to content asset managers. A content asset manager (CAM) system that manages content to be developed. The CAM includes a data repository that stores static and page assets operable for use in websites developed in the code editing system. The web service interfaces the CAM system with the code editing system and provides the code editing system with access to at least some of the static assets stored in the data repository through a user interface in the code editing system, and provides the Edit the code of the website developed in the system, which includes at least one static asset. The slot database includes a number of independent slots, and the slots store data to be used by the website at runtime. The content manager retrieves the code for the website from the data repository and stores the code for the website in the slot for the website in the slot database. The data in the slot can be used to deploy the website.
