Under routine dosage of the methomyl, control effect of fourth instar larvae is over 80% indoors, which is equal to the effect of other medicaments such as phoxim and chlopyrifos. The control effect of the methomyl is over 90% in the field. Because the methomyl does not belong to organophosphorus, the methomyl is relatively safe in use.
