The steering control system of the multi-axle vehicle comprises a variable pump, a plurality of steering valve groups and a controller, wherein the variable pump is used for supplying an oil source to the steering control system through a main pressure oil way under drive of an engine; the plurality of steering valve groups are respectively arranged in a hydraulic oil way of each rear steering axle; each steering valve group is used for controlling flow and direction of the hydraulic oil way of the corresponding rear steering axle; the hydraulic oil ways of the plurality of rear steering axles are respectively connected with the main pressure oil way; and the controller is used for acquiring a rotating speed signal of the engine and real-time steering angle signals of the first axle and the plurality of rear steering axles, calculating target steering angles of the plurality of rear steering axles, determining target hydraulic flow of the plurality of steering valve groups, respectively transmitting instruction signals which correspond to the target hydraulic flow to the plurality of steering valve groups, and calculating a control signal of the variable pump according to the rotating speed signal and the instruction signal of the engine.
