Audio signal decorrelator, multi channel audio signal processor, audio signal processor, method for deriving an output audio signal from an input audio signal and computer program

An audio signal decorrelator for deriving an output audio signal from an input audio signal has a frequency analyzer for extracting from the input audio signal a first partial signal descriptive of an audio content in a first audio frequency range and a second partial signal descriptive of an audio content in a second audio frequency range having higher frequencies compared to the second audio frequency range. A partial signal modifier for modifies the first and second partial signals, to obtain first and second processed partial signals, so that a modulation amplitude of a time variant phase shift or time variant delay applied to the first partial signal is higher than that applied to the second partial signal, or for modifying only the first partial signal. A signal combiner combines the first and second processed partial signals, or combines the first processed partial signal and the second partial signal, to obtain an output audio signal.

In-Line Pipe Inspection Tool

An in-line pipe inspection tool has one or more inspection platforms (28, 30) which are connected to an elongate wheeled trolley by link arms (20 to 26). The trolley unit (10, 12) has drive means for driving the point of connection of the first link arm (20, 22) to the trolley (10) relative to the point of connection of the second link arm (24, 26) to the trolley (12), thereby to move the inspection platforms (28, 30) in a direction perpendicular to the direction of elongation of the trolley (10, 12). Thus the inspection platforms (28, 30) are movable which is relative to the trolley (10, 12) to permit the tool to be adapted to pipelines of different diameters. Moreover, the platforms (28, 30) preferably have permanent magnets which contain a rotatable magnet. The rotatable magnet permits the net magnetic field generated by the platform to be varied.

System for robust denoising of images

InactiveUS20160098820A1Slow adoptionEasy to implementImage enhancementImage analysisAnimationMonte carlo rendering
The invention produces a higher quality image from a rendering system based on a relationship between the output of a rendering system and the parameters used to compute them. We propose a method that robustly combines color and feature buffers to denoise Monte Carlo renderings. On one hand, feature buffers, such as per pixel normals, textures, or depth, are effective in determining denoising filters because features are highly correlated with rendered images. Filters based solely on features, however, are prone to blurring image details that are not well represented by the features. On the other hand, color buffers represent all details, but they may be less effective to determine filters because they are contaminated by the noise that is supposed to be removed. We propose to obtain filters using a combination of color and feature buffers in an NL-means and cross-bilateral filtering framework. We determine a robust weighting of colors and features using a SURE-based error estimate. We show significant improvements in subjective and quantitative errors compared to the previous state-of-the-art. We also demonstrate adaptive sampling and space-time filtering for animations.

Master-slave critical conduction mode power converter

ActiveUS20060077604A1Good current sharingExcellent input current ripple cancellationDc network circuit arrangementsEfficient power electronics conversionLeading edgeSwitching cycle
A system and a method for to use multiple power sources for supplying power to a load. The system and method use a triggering system to automatically and substantially cancel a ripple component of the input current drawn by the system. A master power source and a slave power source supply power to the load. The triggering system results in the two power sources having switching frequencies that are substantially equal and switching cycles that are substantially 180° out of phase. Further, the method and the device contemplate the use of a local oscillator in the triggering system to ensure that the slave power source is triggered to the on position at a point in the switching cycle of the master power source that is approximately 180° out of phase with a leading edge of the master switching drive signal. The system and method are advantageously used to provide a power factor correction front-end for a switch-mode power supply. Power supplies with a diverse array of relationships between power supplied and switching frequency can be used.

Low offset and low glitch energy charge pump for PLL-based timing recovery systems

A high precision charge pump used in a phase-lock-loop incorporating a phase / frequency detector is designed and constructed to substantially eliminate the effects of DC offset and glitch errors on the charge pump output current. The high precision charge pump is constructed of parallel current paths each having a central node which is, in turn, connected to a feedback element. The feedback element defines a feedback current which is applied to the charge pump so as to maintain the two central nodes at an equi-potential level and to maintain the value of the pump-down current exactly equal to the value of the pump-up current output by the device.

System and method for current overload response with class D topology

A system and method for responding to a current overload condition in a power switch provides a class D topology that applies a current sink or current source to the gate of the power switch. The current sink or source decreases or increases current flowing through the power switch to regulate power switch output current in the event of an overload. A timer for current regulation can be provided to shut off the power switch if the overload condition persists. A set of differently rated switches can be used separately or together to provide a range of current regulation response, from a wide regulation range with a fast response, to a narrow regulation range with a slow response. The system provides a rapid response to an overload condition and output current regulation without disabling the power switch to overcome short term overloads.

Apparatus And Method Of Dynamically Adapting The LUT Spacing For Linearizing A Power Amplifier

This invention is about a DAPD-LUT technique of dynamically adapting an LUT spacing for linearizing a power amplifier (PA). It optimizes the LUT spacing for the PA without prior knowledge of system state information. A size-N LUT divides a whole unsaturated PA input amplitude range into N bins, each predistorted by an entry of the LUT. The LUT is indexed by an input amplitude of a modulated signal via an index mapper to implement an unconditionally non-uniform LUT spacing. A spacing adaptor online interactively adapts the LUT spacing. The adapted LUT spacing balances the IMD power at the PA output corresponding to each bin, so that the total IMD power at the PA output is minimized. This dynamically-optimum technique is practical, robust, and with low complexity.

Microcomputer and microprocessor having flash memory operable from single external power supply

A microcomputer incorporating a flash memory which is erased and programmed electrically in a stable manner within a relatively wide range of external power supply voltages including those for low-voltage operations The microcomputer comprises a voltage-clamp unit including a reference voltage generating circuit and a constant voltage generating circuit. In operation, the voltage clamp unit generates a voltage of a low dependency on a supply voltage and clamps the generated voltage to a voltage level which, within a tolerable range, is lower than a single supply voltage externally furnished. This prevents voltages boosted by boosting circuits operating on the clamped voltage, i.e., programming and erasure voltages, from being dependent on the externally supplied voltage.

Geocoding and address hygiene system employing point level and centerline data sets

A method for processing two different types of geographic address data sets to establish candidate matched data includes entering address data into the system and accessing a point level address data set. A determination is made if the point level data set contains an exact match to the entered address data. Any exact address data match from the point level data set is output. Candidate address data matches from the point level data set are saved when no exact match is determined as existing in the point level data set. A centerline address data set is accessed and a determination is made of candidate address data matches from the centerline address data set. Candidate address data from both the point level data set and the centerline data set are scored and matched.A system for geocoding and address hygiene includes a processing system with an input and an output system coupled to said processing system. A point level data set is coupled to the processing system. A centerline data set is coupled to the processing system. A cascade geocoding scoring and matching engine is coupled to the processing system.
