7 results about "Aerobic digestion" patented technology

Aerobic digestion is a process in sewage treatment designed to reduce the volume of sewage sludge and make it suitable for subsequent use. More recently, technology has been developed that allows the treatment and reduction of other organic waste, such as food, cardboard and horticultural waste. It is a bacterial process occurring in the presence of oxygen. Bacteria rapidly consume organic matter and convert it into carbon dioxide, water and a range of lower molecular weight organic compounds. As there is no new supply of organic material from sewage, the activated sludge biota begin to die and are used as food by saprotrophic bacteria. This stage of the process is known as endogenous respiration and it is process that reduces the solid concentration in the sludge.

A biomass burner and a method of burning biomass in the form of solid particulate fuel

Food and organic waste have long been costly and problematic to dispose of as a waste material, despite such waste material having a relatively high potential energy. All industrial treatment routes involve collection and transportation of the raw waste material. Domestic composting and subsequent local disposal as composted material might be carried out for some waste, but this is known to attract pests and vermin. Small-scale aerobic digesters have been developed to produce a stable substrate that can be used as a fuel for biomass burners; however, efficient combustion in such burners is difficult to achieve, and has been hitherto impossible without the co-burning of wood chips / pellets. The present invention provides a biomass burner that uses a primary oxygen feed (13) and gas distributor (15) to fluidize solid particulate fuel (17) within a primary combustion zone (11), whereby solid particulate fuel being conveyed to the primary combustion zone (11) is heated by such combustion, resulting in gasification prior to introduction into the primary combustion zone (11). A duct (27) conveys the combustible gas (25) from the gasification to a secondary combustion zone (29) where a secondary oxygen feed allows total combustion thereof.

Continuous methanogenic digestion of organic solid waste

ActiveCN115927485BWaste based fuelFermentationAerobic digestionDigestion
The present application provides a kind of continuous micro-aerobic digestion methane production method of organic solid waste, it relates to microorganism digestion methane production. The method comprises the following steps: organic solid waste and anaerobic sludge are loaded into reactor for anaerobic digestion; After anaerobic digestion reaction is stable, start to continuously import air or oxygen into reactor, maintain the dissolved oxygen content in reactor in 0.20-0.35 mg / L range; When the daily gas production of reactor decreases compared with the daily gas production of previous day, start to supplement organic solid waste into reactor, daily feed quantity is calculated according to hydraulic retention time, daily feed quantity and discharge quantity are equal, and the gas produced in reactor is collected by exhaust port.By the above method, continuous gas production in the same reactor can be realized, which overcomes the defect that when two-phase digestion is used, the reaction substance needs to be transferred after micro-aerobic aeration is completed, which increases the operation complexity and is not suitable for continuous digestion methane production.
