A mandarin phonetic transcription character comprises 23 phonetic symbols, 36 rhythmic symbols and 4 tone marks. The phonetic symbols are combined with the rhythmic symbols to form a phonetic transcription symbol, and the tone marks are added, accordingly, phonetic notation of characters of various forms can be completed. Besides, some individual rhythmic symbols added with the tone marks can complete phonetic notation of part characters.
