Abstract

The invention provides a system for improving the traffic lane recognition by using a front image and a side image of a vehicle and a method thereof. The system and the method concretely comprise the steps of comparing the number of the front traffic lane detected in the front image of the vehicle with the number of the side traffic lane detected in the side image; according to the comparison result, when the number of the detected front traffic lane is small than the number of the detected side traffic lane, generating a virtual traffic lane of the front traffic lane that is not detected, by taking the detected front traffic lane as the criterions; and then determining whether the vehicle deviates the detected front traffic lane and the virtual traffic lane. Therefore, the traffic lane recognition is improved.
