Embodiment Construction

[0101] refer to Figure 1 to Figure 9 , shows a hose deployment device (hose deployment device) 1 according to a first embodiment of the invention, the hose deployment device 1 comprising a base part 3 having a side part 4 in a stowed configuration in (refer to figure 1 and figure 2 ) are fixed together to define a space for accommodating the hose 10. Side 4 in deployed configuration (see Figure 3 to Figure 6 ) extend outwardly away from each other to provide an opening 6 through which the hose 10 can move. In the stowed configuration, the strap arrangement 12 secures the hose 10 to the base 3, as figure 2 Best shown. Upon application of fluid pressure to an inlet valve (not shown), the hose 10 uncoils, causing the strap 12 to release the hose 10 from the base 3 . The hose 10 keeps the sides 4 away from each other (as Figure 4 to Figure 6 best shown), so that the hose 10 is deployed in a coiled configuration (see Figure 6 ), for users to use. In addition to using...

Abstract

A hose deployment device (1) including a base (3, 300) having sides (4, 400) which in a contracted configuration secure together to define a space to receive hoses (10, 100). The sides (4, 400) in an expanded configuration extend outwardly away from each outer to provide an opening through which the hoses (10, 100) can move. Fastening means secure a hose inlet valve and a hose outlet nozzle (27) to the device. Strap means secure a hose to the base in the contracted configuration. Upon application of a fluid pressure to the inlet valve the hose expands urging the strap means to release the hose from the base.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to hose deployment devices, and more particularly to devices for quickly and reliably deploying lay-flat extension hoses in a linear or coiled fashion. Background technique [0002] Hoses are used throughout the world to transport liquids between different locations. For example, industrial hoses are commonly used between various machines and in factories. Hoses are also used around swimming pools, gardens and by firefighters and other emergency personnel to fight fires. [0003] Firefighters and emergency responders will often carry their own hoses to the location where the fire will be extinguished. Fire hoses are easy to handle when dry. As soon as water is introduced into the hose, the hose stretches and stiffens, making it more laborious and time consuming to manipulate and control the resulting flow of water. To be effective, a hose must move water at an optimal flow rate. For this reason, the hose should not be...
