Abstract

The invention discloses a method for uninstalling application and deleting a garbage file in an Android system, which comprises the following steps: S1, when a user installs application, a file is created in a PMS (Package Management Service); S2, a UID (User Identifier) of the application and a directory corresponding to a folder created by the application are recorded in the file; S3, when the application creates the folder in an external storage, the UID of the application and a name of the folder are recorded in the file; S4, when the user uninstalls the application, a dialog box is popped up to inquire the user whether to clear data; S5, when the user selects yes, the folder of the application in an external storage directory is searched in the file through the UID of the application to be uninstalled and the folder is deleted, and when the user selects no, the folder is not cleared; S6, the record of applying the UID of the uninstalled application is deleted. According to the invention, when the application is uninstalled, the user can select whether to clear the file created by the application as required, so that the effect of timely clearing the garbage file is achieved.
