Embodiment Construction

[0013] Below in conjunction with the breeding process of the new tillering onion variety "Zhu Cong No. 5", the substantive content of the present invention will be specifically described.

[0014] 1. Materials

[0015] The new tillering onion variety "Zhucong No. 5" is a first-generation hybrid bred by crossing the male sterile line MF02-1-53A as the female parent and the inbred line WMF01-10-07-542C as the male parent.

[0016] 2. Maternal source and its traits

[0017] The female parent MF02-1-53A is derived from a local tiller onion farm variety in Acheng, Heilongjiang, which was bred through self-segregation and individual plant selection. In the field, the plants with bolting, flowering and vigorous growth were selected, the curds were bagged for selfing, artificially assisted pollination was performed 5 times, and the selfing seeds of a single plant were harvested. In the second year, seedlings are sown in spring in greenhouses, transplanted on land, and individual bul...

Abstract

The invention aims to provide a method for breeding first generation of hybrid of tillered-onion. According to the key technology, a sterile line and a selfing line which accord with the breeding objective are selected through multi-generation artificial selfing, segregation of characters and individual plant selection on the basis of widely collecting high-quality farm variety of tillered-onion. According to the requirement of the breeding objective, a two-line hybrid breeding technology is adopted, and a high-yield combination of the tillered-onion with strong advantages is matched. The novel variety of the tillered-onion is a first generation of hybrid formed by hybridizing by taking a male sterile line MF02-1-53A as a female parent and taking a selfing line WMF01-10-07-542C as a male parent. Compared with a local farm variety, the variety has the advantages that the chlorisis is delayed by about 7 days; the disease resistance is high, and the rotten onion incidence is low; the average output is 2591kg in every 667square meters, and the yield is increased by 17.5 percent compared with that of the reference farm variety. The variety is low-temperature-resistant, is suitable for growth under medium and short day conditions, enters lodging and dormancy states under long day and high temperature conditions, has the growth period being about 130 days and is suitable for cultivation in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Shandong and Inner Mongolia of China.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the technical field of onion heterosis utilization and relates to a method for breeding the first generation of tillering onion hybrids. Background technique [0002] tiller onion ( Allium cepa var. agrogatum Don.) is a plant of the genus Allium in the Liliaceae family, commonly known as shallots, which are traditionally widely cultivated as farm varieties in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Shandong and Inner Mongolia. Tiller onions are cold-resistant, adaptable, high-yield, storable, and have a long market supply period. They are special vegetables with high economic value. Tiller onions are rich in nutrients. In addition to protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins, they also contain various minerals such as iron, zinc, calcium, phosphorus, and selenium, as well as volatile sulfides with a special spicy taste. Among them, propylene sulfide [(CH 2 CHCH 2 ) 2 S] has a strong irritant, can increase appetite, whet the appetite ...
