Abstract

The present invention relates to electrical terminal retainers and receiver assemblies. A retainer is provided to retain the conductive terminal within the receptacle. The holder has a longitudinal body sized to be received by the receptacle and engage the terminal to retain the terminal within the receptacle. The body has an aperture formed therethrough sized to receive a pin of the contact terminal therethrough. A shoulder extends laterally from the body to engage the distal end of the receptacle and position the body relative to the receptacle. A fastener extends longitudinally from the shoulder and is spaced from the body to secure the retainer to the receptacle. The receiver assembly is provided with barbs formed externally on the body. A conductive terminal is received within the receiver assembly. A retainer is disposed over the opening of the receptacle to engage the barb to secure the retainer to the body to retain the terminal therein.
