The invention discloses an electrolyte and a lithium secondary battery comprising the same. The lithium secondary battery includes the components of: a positive electrode including an overlithiated lithium transition metal oxide with a layered structure; a negative electrode including a silicon-based negative active material; and an electrolyte that is interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode and includes a fluoride-based ether solvent in an amount of 3 vol% or more based on a total volume of a non-aqueous electrolytic solution.
