Abstract

The invention discloses an MSTN gene molecular marker selection method for goat growth characters. The method comprises the following steps: (1) designing a specific nucleic acid primer aiming at a 5'UTR region of a goat MSTN gene and carrying out PCR amplification on a to-be-detected goat genome DNA to obtain 593bp of amplification product; (2) carrying out enzyme digestion and electrophoresis analysis on the PCR product by using a DraI restriction enzyme to generate three genetypes, wherein AA type is 593bp; AB type is 593bp, 424bp and 174bp; and BB type is 424bp and 174bp; and (3) selecting AB type and BB type individual bodies to reserve seeds for planting because the weight and body size indexes of AB type and BB type individual bodies are obviously higher than those of the AA type individual body. According to the method, the selection accuracy of the boer goat growth characters can be improved, and the new variety breeding process of the goat taking the boer goat as a breeding material is quickened.
