Abstract

The invention discloses a method and system for providing live broadcast streams. The method includes the steps that a load balancing server receives a live broadcast stream request of a user; the load balancing server sends the received live broadcast request to one stream convergence server of at least two stream convergence servers, and one of the stream convergence servers is used for conducting convergence on the live broadcast streams of one distribution server of each pair of distribution servers in at least one pair of distribution servers backing up each other, and the live broadcast streams of the distribution servers gathered by one stream convergence server are provided for the user when one stream convergence server receives the live broadcast stream request. According to the method and system for providing the live broadcast streams, as long as one stream convergence server can work normally, or one distribution server in each pair of distribution servers can work normally, the system for providing the live broadcast streams can provide the live broadcast streams.
