The present invention discloses an encoding method for conducting error concealment processing in a moving image transmission system, and in particular to a moving image encoding method for providing image heading information through data concealment in the process of an encoder when a multimedia image is transmitted through a network and also conducting effective error concealment processing with respect to errors which occur in a decoding process. The image heading information comprises encoded structural image heading information and heading information which is changed each time during encoding, wherein the encoded structural image heading information comprises information related to the extension condition of an image heading, while the heading information which is changed each time during encoding comprises quantization parameters (pquant) of a corresponding image and the image information (temporaLreference value) with reference to the corresponding image.
