Abstract

The present application provides a license plate type recognition method based on multi-feature fusion. The method comprises the steps of: acquiring a coarsely detected and filtered license plate image; calculating a block LBP feature of the license plate image; calculating an extended HOG feature of the license plate image; calculating a color histogram feature of the license plate image; fusing the calculated block LBP feature, extended HOG feature and color histogram feature of the license plate image; and performing license plate type recognition according to the fused feature of the license plate image to determine the type of a license plate. According to the license plate type recognition method and system based on the multi-feature fusion, provided by the present application, the calculated different features are fused and then the license plate type recognition is performed according to the fused feature, so that the advantage of performing the license plate type recognition according to each feature individually is integrated, the recognition effect is relatively robust due to the use of multiple features, and very high resistance to changes of light and angles is achieved.
