Abstract

The invention discloses a carpooling method and device. The method comprises the following steps: receiving route information sent by a driver's client and riding information sent by passengers' clients; looking for matching route information according to the riding information, generating an optional plan, and pushing the optional plan to the passengers' clients; and generating carpooling information according to selection information returned by the passengers' clients and sending the carpooling information to the driver's client. The route information includes a driving route, a destination of driving, assembly places, and corresponding assembling times. The riding information comprises a departure place, an expected destination, and an expected time for arriving at the expected destination all input by a passenger. The selection information includes an assembly place selected by the passenger's client and a selected destination of driving on the driving route. The carpooling information comprises contact information of the passengers, the assembly places selected by the passengers' clients, and the destinations of driving. The method and the device can reduce the cost of carpooling and are easier to be approved and supported by regulators.
