Abstract

The invention relates to a vehicle door opening early warning system and a safety protection method thereof. A Doppler millimeter-wave radar is adopted for detecting an approaching moving object within a certain area range behind a vehicle. After the vehicle is stopped and a door lock opening instruction is received, a warning function of the system is started, and meanwhile a control instruction for delaying lock opening is sent to a BCM through CAN communication to delay lock opening. If it is detected that an approaching moving target enters a warning area, the system reminds a driver or a passenger of danger first through an LED installed at the position of a door handle in the vehicle; when the driver or the passenger toggles the door handle and intends to open a vehicle door, the system reminds the driver or the passenger of the danger through a buzzer arranged in an instrument, a door lock is in a non-opened state at the movement, and the driver or the passenger can not open the vehicle door when pulling the door handle for the first time. Thus, the probability of traffic accidents caused by opening the vehicle door is effectively lowered.
