The invention relates to a wireless access point switching method and a wireless access point switching device. The wireless access point switching method comprises the steps of when switching from a currently connected wireless access point (AP) to another neighboring wireless AP is required, transmitting a state acquiring request to each neighboring wireless AP so that the neighboring wireless AP acquires self AP state information according to the state acquiring request; receiving the AP state information returned from each neighboring wireless AP; determining a to-be-accessed neighboring wireless AP according to the AP state information of the neighboring wireless APs; and switching from the currently connected wireless AP to the to-be-accessed neighboring wireless AP. Therefore according to the wireless access point switching method and the wireless access point switching device, the currently connected wireless AP can be automatically switched to an appropriate neighboring wireless AP, thereby improving switching efficiency and switching accuracy for the wireless AP.
