The method comprises: a video content of a main video and a video cover of at least one candidate video are loaded, wherein the video cover is used for displaying image and text information of the video content of the candidate video; the video content of the main video is played in a video playing window of a video playing interface; and the video cover of the at least one candidate video is displayed in an extended window of the video play interface, wherein the extended window is one that is obtained by extension of a peripheral side of the video playing window. Therefore, a problem that a displayed advertisement content is limited due to restriction of the video playing window in the prior art can be solved. While a main video is displayed in a video playing window, a video cover of a candidate video can be displayed in an extended window, so that the display area of the video is extended and thus more video contents can be displayed simultaneously.
