The invention discloses an information processing apparatus and a security control method therefor. The information processing apparatus can be prevented from being demounted from a docking station and being illegally used. The information processing apparatus comprises an input device, a connector which is connected to the docking station in mountable and demountable manner, a wireless device which is in data communication with the docking station in a wireless manner, an authentication acquisition part and a control part. The authentication acquisition part is used for collecting information required for user anthentication. When the connector is connected with the docking station, the control part is used for permitting operation input when the authentication acquisition part is not adopted for information collection. When the the connector is not connected with the docking station, information is collected via the authentication acquisition part, and operation input is permitted on the condition that a user is authenticated.
