A kind of economical duplex stainless steel sheet and its preparation method. The composition of the stainless steel sheet in terms of mass percentage is: C 0.08~0.13%; Cr 20~23%; Mn 4~6%; Ni 0.5~1.5%; Mo 0.2 ~0.5%; N 0.1~0.25%; the balance is iron and other inevitable impurities. The preparation method is: first select the raw materials according to the above ingredients and smelt them into molten steel; then cast the molten steel into ingots; cut off the riser part of the ingots, hot-roll and roughen them and grind the surface; then hot-roll to obtain a thickness of 3~6mm. The hot-rolled plate is annealed, pickled and then cold-rolled to obtain a 1~1.5mm thick plate; and finally solution annealed to obtain a economical duplex stainless steel plate.
