Embodiment 1

[0033] Put the Pittosporum fruit collected from the field in a drying room with environmental conditions of 15° C. and 15% RH, and dry until the fruit cracks.

[0034] Spread a layer of plant ash on the rubber mat, put the Pittosporum fruit on it, put on rubber gloves and rub it gently to make the seeds fall off from the fruit, and at the same time pick out the large fruit branches.

[0035] Filter the seed mixture on the rubber pad with a stainless steel screen of 3.35 to 4mm aperture, so that branches and husks therein are left in the screen, and seeds and small fruit residues fall onto the rubber pad below.

[0036] Put a layer of plant ash on the rubber mat again, and rub the seeds gently, so that the seeds that were originally sticky into agglomerates are separated from each other to form a single ash seed.

[0037] Filter the above-mentioned seed mixture with a stainless steel sieve with an aperture of 1.7 to 2mm, so that the seeds and peel residues remain in the sieve, ...

Embodiment 2

[0053] A method for cleaning other seeds of Pittogonia genus Pittogonia:

[0054] The fruits of other species of Pittogonia genus (Pittogonia brevifolia, Pittogonia large-leaved, Pittogonia yunnanensis, Pittogonia thickensis or Pittogonia polyflora) collected from the wild were placed in an environment of 15°C and 15°C. In the drying room of %RH, dry until the fruit cracks. Spread a layer of fine plant ash filtered through a stainless steel screen with an aperture of 0.3mm to 0.35mm on the rubber mat, put the Pittosporum fruit on it, put on rubber gloves and rub it gently to make the seeds fall off from the fruit, and at the same time Pick off large fruit branches. According to the size of the seeds, filter the seed mixture on the rubber mat with a stainless steel screen with a suitable aperture (2.35-4.75mm), so that the branches and husks remain in the screen, while the seeds and small fruit residues fall to the rubber below. Abstract

The invention provides a method for effective cleaning of Pittosporum tobira seeds. The method consists of the steps of: drying Pittosporum tobira fruits till pericarps crack; rubbing Pittosporum tobira fruits with plant ash on a rubber mat to make seeds come off from the fruits; picking out large fruit branches, using a layer of plant ash to rub the seeds again, separating clustered seeds into single seed carrying ash, letting a lot of mucus on the seed coats form ash balls and drop down; using a stainless steel screen to separate the seeds, pericarps and bulk ash, mucus balls; separating out ash carrying full seeds; performing rubbing with running water to remove ash sticking on the full seeds; drying the seeds; and packaging the seeds with paper bags. Directed at the problems that existing Pittosporum tobira seeds are full of mucus on the surfaces and always adhere to each other together and empty and worm-eaten seeds and fruit residue therein are difficultly to be removed, the invention puts forward an effective cleaning method. The cleaning method is also applicable to cleaning of other pittosporum seeds.

Description
