Benefits of technology

The technical effect of this patented technology allows for better allocation of resources based on their importance during peak hours or under heavy traffic conditions without compromising any other important aspects such as latency time. This helps optimize resource utilization more efficiently and improve overall performance.

Problems solved by technology

Technological Problem: The technical problem addressed in this patented method relating to improving networking efficiency and reducing delays caused by overloaded links in mobile/data centric networks called Softswitches® is how to efficiently allocate bandwidth among multiple nodes within these systems without affecting their overall performance capabilities due to high volume of data transmittal. Current solutions require complex calculations and static assignment techniques like identifying large flows and selecting best paths for transmitting them. These approaches have limitations in terms of scalability, reliance upon integrated services, and adaptive load balancements.

Abstract

The present invention relates to the field of software defined network, and particularly relates to an SDN load balancing method with highest network utility. The method comprises the steps of determining that multiple paths between a source node and a destination node are available; assigning different weights to impact factors meeting service quality according to different data flow service attributes; then collecting information of a switch to acquire values of impact factors of service quality in the network, wherein the information comprises link use ratio, time delay and packet loss rate; calculating a utility value and a load of each path in a path set; and finally, selecting an optimal path for the data flow according to overall consideration. Through adoption of the SDN load balancing method with highest network utility, network dynamic load is balanced, further, the service quality demands are met to the greatest extent.
