Embodiment Construction

[0038] A vehicle bumper according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. Arrows "Front" (FR), "Up" (UP) and "Right" (RH) appropriately shown in the drawings indicate front, upper and right sides with respect to the vehicle to which the vehicle bumper 10 is applied, respectively. Hereinafter, in the description using only the front-rear direction, the up-down direction, and the left-right direction, these will be expressed as front or rear in the front-rear direction of the vehicle, up and down in the up-down direction of the vehicle, and left and right when facing forward. Right, unless expressly stated to the contrary.

Abstract

The invention discloses a vehicle bumper. According to the invention, an impact absorbing portion (18) and a bumper reinforcement (16) are formed in one piece, so an intermediate member for connecting the impact absorbing portion (18) to the bumper reinforcement (16) is no longer necessary. Therefore, the generation of stress concentration is able to be inhibited. As a result, load transmission efficiency with which a load is transmitted from the bumper reinforcement (16) to the impact absorbing portion (18) is able to be improved.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a vehicle bumper. Background technique [0002] For example, Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2009-101731 (JP 2009-101731 A) describes a technique in which a crash box (impact absorbing portion) is provided between a front side member and a front bumper reinforcement. More specifically, an end flange is fixed to a front end portion of the front side member, and an end flange provided on a rear end portion of the crash box is fixed to the aforementioned end flange. Meanwhile, the connection base of the front bumper reinforcement is fixed (connected) to the end flange formed on the front end portion of the crash box. [0003] At the same time, the front bumper brace is fitted to the outside of the crash box. The front bumper stay is welded (attached) to the upper and lower surfaces of the front bumper reinforcement. Thus, when an impact load is input to the front bumper reinforcement when the vehicle is involved in ...
