The identification method which is applied to the identification device integrated on the cabinet comprises the steps of sending node information identification instructions to all node servers inserted into the cabinet; judging whether confirmation messages replied by all of the node servers are received, and if so, determining the node servers which reply with the confirmation messages as effective servers. By adopting the embodiment, whether the node servers are effective does not need to be manually distinguished by technical personnel, so that the manual workload is reduced, the effective node servers can be automatically identified, and the identification method is especially suitable for the scene that a plurality of SmartRack cabinets need to be managed synchronously; additionally, even different types of node servers, for example, markers of the node servers of different manufacturers are not obvious, therefore, the node servers do not need to be accurately distinguished by troubleshooting hardware information, the manual troubleshooting difficulty is reduced, and a large quantity of financial resources are saved.
