The hydraulic steering system comprises a left steering cylinder and a right steering cylinder, which correspond to steering wheels on both sides and are used for driving the steering wheels to change direction under a first set wheel span; the communicating cavities of the two steering cylinders are communicated, and the working cavities of the two steering cylinders serve as the oil pumping cavity and the release cavity for each other. The hydraulic steering system also comprises an oil replenishing device, and the oil replenishing device is used for, when the wheel span between the steering wheels on both sides is increased from the first set wheel span to a second set wheel span and the steering wheels on both sides are changed from a straight travelling state to a steering state, replenishing oil into the communicating cavity of the steering cylinder corresponding to the inner steering wheel of the two steering wheels so that the steering wheels on both sides can change the direction under the second set wheel span according to Ackerman steering principles.
