Abstract

The invention provides an AP (Wireless Access Point) version upgrading method and device applied to an AC (Wireless Access Point Controller). The method comprises the steps of generating an AP upgrading test table according to a configuration instruction of a user, wherein the AP upgrading test table comprises a test AP appointed by the user, a detection option corresponding to the test AP, and a reference result; sending an upgrading instruction and the corresponding detection option to the test AP, thereby enabling the test AP to carry out version upgrading, detecting a new version according to the detection option after the version upgrading, and returning a detection result to the AC; determining the availability of the new version according to the detection result returned by the test AP and the reference result; and when it is determined that the new version is available, sending the upgrading instructions to the non-test APs in a network, thereby enabling the non-test APs to carry out version upgrading.
