Systems and methods are provided for implementing a Listen Before Talk (LBT) radio protocol in a communication system. In one example embodiment, the method (600) performed by a radio component (403, 503) of a wireless device (400, 500) may include, during a transmission time interval associated with a synchronous wireless communication system, transmitting, by the radio component, a wireless A baseband component (401, 501) of the device receives (601) the transmitted data.
