Abstract

The invention discloses a snake-shaped arm which comprises an arm body. The arm body is composed of a plurality of connection rods which are connected in series, and every two adjacent connection rods are movably connected through a cross shaft joint. The upper end surface of each connection rod except the top connection rod is provided with a pair of first shaft forks, and the first shaft forks are in pivoted connection with one set of pivot shafts of the corresponding cross shaft joint; and the lower end surface of each connection rod except the bottom connection rod is provided with a pair of second shaft forks, and the second shaft forks are in pivoted connection with the other set of pivot shafts of the corresponding cross shaft joint. The first shaft forks on the upper end surface and the second shaft forks on the lower end surface of the same connection rod form an angle of (90+alpha) degrees, wherein the alpha is an acute angle. Each connection rod is provided with a ring of first through holes which surround the shaft forks and make the upper end surface communicate with the lower end surface of the corresponding connection rod. The two sets of pivot shafts of each cross shaft joint are connected to a corresponding driving unit through four pulling ropes, wherein the four pulling ropes each penetrate through a first through hole in each connection rod below the corresponding four pulling rope in sequence. The rotating of the cross shaft joints is controlled through the pulling performed on the pulling ropes by the driving units, so that the multi-dimensional movement of the snake-shaped arm is controlled, and the highly flexible operating capacity is realized.
