The active carbon filter core comprises is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 150 parts of polyethylene, 200 parts of active carbon, 100 parts of magnesium and 35 parts of a KDF filter material, wherein the iodine adsorption value of the active carbon is 1000-1200. The preparation method comprises the following steps: (1) mixing and uniformly stirring the polyethylene, the active carbon, the magnesium and the KDF filter material to obtain a mixed material; (2) putting the mixed material into a mould, then adding into a furnace for sintering heat treatment, cooling, and demoulding to obtain the active carbon filter core. The active carbon filter core has the beneficial effectsas follows: through a scientific ratio of the raw materials, the defects that the conventional active carbon filter core only uses an active carbon material and the adsorbing and purifying effects ofthe active carbon are poor are overcome; the active carbon has the particle size of 80-325 meshes, the adsorbing effect of the active carbon is fully played, and the purifying effect of the filter core is enhanced; a bonding moulding material in the filter core selects ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, so that a water passage is not blocked, and the effect of the filter material is fully played; the filter core is firm, durable, good in gas diffusion, strong in filtration and strong in adsorption.
