Abstract

The invention provides a projection device and a method for the projection device to sense ambient light luminance in real time. Each frame of image of an obtained video signal is segmented into a first subframe of image and a second subframe of image which are obtained through double frequency projection. A preset image is taken as an original frame corresponding to the second subframe of image and the first subframe of image corresponding to the original frame is adjusted, so the first subframe of image and the second subframe of image are equivalent to the original frame, namely, when the first subframe of image and the second subframe of image are projected rapidly, the difference between the first subframe of image and the second subframe of image, and the original frame is not liableto be observed by eyes. Through insertion and sensing of the sub-frames of two different preset images, a parameter value of current practical ambient light is obtained. The real-time sensing is realized without influencing the watching experience. A projection effect can be adjusted in real time when a video is watched. A watching effect is relatively good.
