The dual-purpose device comprises a machine frame, an upper roller, a lower roller, two screws, a driving gear, two driven gears and a supporting table. The upper roller is arranged at the upper portion of the machine frame through a slider. The lower roller is arranged at the lower portion of the machine frame. The slider is slidingly connected with the machine frame. The lower ends of the two screws are rotationally connected with the sliders respectively. The upper ends ofthe two screws are sequentially connected with the machine frame, the supporting table and the driven gears. The screws are in threaded connection with the machine frame. The two ends of the supporting table are rotationally connected with the screws. The driven gears are fixedly connected with the screws. The driving gear is detachably connected with the supporting table. The driving gear is meshed with the two driven gears. By designing the driving gear and the supporting table into a detachable structure, the switching of the rolling mill between a synchronous pressing mode and an asynchronous pressing mode is realized, and the experiment teaching requirement is met.
