Abstract

The invention discloses a natural hybridization method for early bud extraction of female parents of bananas. The method comprises the steps of (1) selection of a female parent material and male parent material of bananas for interplanting; (2) super-dense planting of the male parent material; (3) dwarfing of the female parent material and adjustment of the flowering period; (4) dense planting ofthe female parent material; (5) releasing of bees for pollination; (6) thinning of flowers and fruits of the male parent material; (7) bud cutting and leaf nursing of the female parents; (8) bud suction for reserving plants; (9) strengthening of field management. By means of the method, the parent materials are naturally pollinated and hybridized, and when female parent banana fruits are mature oralmost mature, hybrid seeds are collected. The method simplifies the procedures of a method for artificial cross pollination among different varieties, shortens the breeding process, reduces the labor intensity of seed production, saves labor and lowers the production cost, and the purity of produced seeds is high. By means of the natural banana hybridization method, hybrid seed production in a large area can be conducted, and the natural banana hybridization method is easy to popularize.
