Abstract

The invention relates to a method, a packaging IC and a system for a bridgeless PFC converter. At least some example embodiments are methods of operating a power converter, the method comprising operating the power converter during a positive half-line cycle of a frequency of an alternating current AC source by charging the power converter with a charging current having a first polarity. charging a primary winding of a multi-winding boost inductor; and then discharging said primary winding; sensing a falling edge of a voltage at a switch node by means of a secondary winding of said multi-winding boost inductor; and Subsequent charging of the primary winding is triggered based on the falling edge during a half line cycle.
