Abstract

A method and device for sending a message is provided to solve the problem in the prior art that a MAC address of a terminal device is bound to multiple Ether sessions. In the present application, a first core network element obtains MAC address information associated with a first Ether session of a terminal device; the first core network element determines whether the MAC address information associated with the first Ether session is associated with other Ether sessions; and the first core network element sends a first message if the MAC address information associated with the first Ether session is already associated with the other Ether sessions.
