AI Technical Summary

Problems solved by technology

[0009] Anamorphic rendering, although well-studied, still has imperfections
Anamorphic distortion of photographic images in particular still presents a variety of key problems ranging from the inability to correctly reproduce the deformation of the image on a three-dimensional medium to the problems represented by shadows
[0010] The difficulty of the anamorphic distortion process is such that so far no application of an anamorphic mirror has satisfactorily composed a 360° panorama, but only partial views or simple frontal views

Embodiment Construction

[0033] The invention will now be illustrated by way of non-limiting or non-binding example only, using the accompanying drawings illustrating several embodiments related to the inventive concept.

[0034] Referring to FIG. 2 , it shows the principle of image aberration deformation on which the present invention is based. This technique has been known for centuries; since the system allows for a variety of applications, it can produce decorative or monumental objects that have a specific effect on the observer. Some of these objects are in image 3 .a, 3.b, 3.c, and 3.d, but not limiting in any way, allow the system detailed below to be applied to very small objects from which various forms of Souvenirs, medium-sized objects (such as decorations, furniture, etc.), and large objects (including commemorative installations or art installations in public places).

[0035] In fact, the system used for the acquisition, post-production and reproduction of images allows the presentat...

Abstract

Anamorphic system for the acquisition, post-production and reproduction of 360 degrees panorama images on three-dimensional objects, suitable for the representation of panorama images (1) that are deformed according to the principle of anamorphosis on a two-dimensional medium (10), said image (1) being adapted to be reflected on the outer surface (2) of a three- dimensional medium (20) positionedcentrally with respect to the two-dimensional medium (10); said system consisting of: (A) acquisition: wherein 360-degree photography shots are taken around the object to be reproduced; said photography shots being equidistant from the object to be reproduced and being provided with focals, preferably 35 mm; said photography shots also being provided with a mutual superimposition comprised between30% and 40% of the image and being captured preferably in HDR mode; said acquisition (A) step occurring several times during the day or over multiple days, for acquiring photography shots of the entire object to be reproduced hit by sunlight or artificial night lighting; (B) post-production: wherein said photography shots are edited in order to generate the deformed image (1); (C) reproduction ofthe image (1) on a two-dimensional medium (10); said image (1) being provided with a central hole (11); (D) positioning a three-dimensional medium (20) at said central hole (11).

Description

[0001] manual technical field [0002] The invention operates in the fields of graphics and design as well as photography, in particular in the post-production phase of the photography process for generating 360° panoramic images. [0003] In more detail, the invention concerns the reproduction of 360° panoramas on three-dimensional objects, making them decorative objects particularly attractive to the observer. Background technique [0004] "Anamorphosis" is a word of Greek origin and means "reconstructed form"; it is an optical illusion effect in which an image is projected onto a surface in a distorted Position observation image to identify. [0005] Original subjects can be flat figures or three-dimensional objects. The present invention is concerned with the latter representation type. The observer perceives the graphics represented on the two-dimensional medium as a three-dimensional object through the curved mirror. [0006] In addition to many typical Renaissance...
