AI Technical Summary

Benefits of technology

This technology reduces interference from unwanted signals during data transmission without requiring any preparations or adjustments on either side. It also improves spectral efficacy while maintaining good quality reception over longer periods of distance compared with traditional methods like coherence detection (CDI). Additionally, this method simplifies the receiving device's design making them more reliable against external factors such as temperature changes.

Problems solved by technology

Technological Problem: Current Directly Modulated Ultra High Definition Digital Overall, LDIO-ONCDM systems suffer from various technical issues such as increased sensitivity for both CW and LOC distortion effects, reduced data transmission speed, potential loss of communication quality during Fixed Line Interval Test (FLIT). These challenges limit their practicality in applications where long distance fibers or cables may exist.

Embodiment Construction

[0025] In order to make the purpose, technical solution and advantages of the present invention more clear, the implementation of the present invention will be described in detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

[0026] figure 1 It is a block diagram and frequency spectrum diagram of the receiving system in this embodiment.

[0027] The present invention adopts a new receiving method for PDM SSB-OOFDM signals based on optical balance detection, which eliminates the influence of SSBI on signal demodulation, improves the spectrum utilization efficiency of the system, and avoids the transmission of PDM SSB-OOFDM signals in optical fibers The effect of time polarization mode dispersion. To achieve the above effect, the following steps need to be taken:

[0028] First, the PDM SSB-OOFDM signal is generated at the transmitter, the specific process is as follows figure 2 shown. In order to improve the spectral efficiency, the spectrum of the OOFDM signal in...

Abstract

The invention provides an optical balance detection method and system capable of eliminating beat frequency interference between signals of PDM SSB-OOFDM signals, wherein two SSB-OOFDM signals in thePDM SSB-OOFDM signals are orthogonal in polarization, the frequency spectrums of the two paths of OOFDM signals are overlapped, and the optical carriers in the X and Y polarization directions are located on the two sides of the OOFDM signals; the receiving end quarters the optical signal by using a power divider; and then optical carriers in different polarization directions are filtered by four optical band-pass filters, the filtered optical carriers are injected into two optical balance detectors for photoelectric conversion, differential output currents of the two optical balance detectorsonly contain transmitted OFDM radio frequency signal components and direct current components, and SSBI is eliminated. By adopting the method and the system provided by the invention, SSBI-free receiving can be realized, the bandwidth does not need to be protected theoretically, and the spectrum utilization efficiency of the PDM SSB-OOFDM system is further improved. Meanwhile, a polarization beamsplitter is not used for polarization demultiplexing, so that the polarization mode dispersion problem and complex MIMO processing are avoided.
