The novel quenching liquid is prepared from, by mass, 5-8% of polyvinyl alcohol, 1-3% of polyether, 1-3% of anticorrosive agent, 2-8% of sodium phosphite, 2-4% of scale inhibiting agent, 0-2% of cleaning dispersing agent and the balance water. The novel quenching liquid has the advantages of being safe, environmentally friendly, capable of inhibiting corrosion and long in service life. The quenching liquid overcomes the defect that a traditional quenching liquid is cooled rapidly and likely to be cracked, and effectively improves the quality ofa steel product.
