Abstract

The present invention relates to a vehicle brake system and to a corresponding method for increasing brake pressure in a first wheel brake cylinder (12) and limiting brake pressure in a second wheel brake cylinder (14) of a vehicle brake system, having the steps: increasing a first brake pressure present in the first wheel brake cylinder (12) by virtue of a first wheel inlet valve (16) being adjusted in controlled fashion into / held in the open state thereof and a first wheel outlet valve (18) being adjusted in controlled fashion into / held in the closed state thereof during driver-force-imparted and / or motorized operation of at least one brake pressure build-up device (30, 36), and at least limiting an increase of a second brake pressure prevailing in the second wheel brake cylinder (14) during the transfer of brake fluid into the first wheel brake cylinder (12) by virtue of a second wheel inlet valve (20) being adjusted in controlled fashion into / held in the closed state thereof and asecond wheel outlet valve (22) being at least temporarily adjusted in controlled fashion into the open state thereof, wherein the second wheel outlet valve (22) is activated by means of a pulse-width-modulated signal such that the second wheel outlet valve (22) is permanently present in the open state thereof during the transfer of brake fluid.
