Abstract

In one embodiment, driving faster than a speed limit can be avoided. In response to a current speed being greater than a local speed limit of the vehicle, a vehicle can determine a current vehicle pitch and determine a compensation acceleration to maintain constant velocity of the vehicle at the current vehicle pitch. A threshold control command is determined based on the current speed of the vehicle, and the compensation acceleration. The threshold control command determines whether the vehicle will accelerate or decelerate under the the current vehicle pitch of the vehicle is given. If a driver's control command is greater than the threshold control command, the driver's control command can be overridden or modified to reduce the current speed of the vehicle.

Description

Technical field [0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to operation of automatic driving vehicles. More specifically, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods that reduce or prevent vehicle overspeed based on map information. Background technique [0002] Vehicles running (eg, driver) in automatic driving mode can liberate the occupants, especially the driver from some driving related responsibilities. When run in an automatic driving mode, the vehicle can use the in-vehicle sensor to navigate to each position, allowing the vehicle to travel in some cases without any passengers without any passengers. [0003] Motion planning and control are key operations in automatic driving. However, traditional motion planning operations are mainly estimated to complete the difficulty of the given path from the curvature and speed of a given path, regardless of the characteristics differences of different types of vehicles. The same movement p...
