[0040] In order to better understand the automatic vacuum shutoff assembly 10, its operation will be described herein in connection with the mixing device. see Figure 4 and 13, a fluid diluent such as water is provided under pipe pressure through hose 16 and flows through inlet connector 18, through vacuum shut-off valve assembly 20, conduit 31, float valve assembly 30 and into the injector. Water from eductor 36 is provided to kettle 12 through hose 40 . As water flows through eductor 36 , a reduced pressure is created in conduit 51 . This depressurization process draws the liquid concentrate product from the plastic bag 12 into the eductor 36 where it is mixed with water and placed in the kettle 12. The product is continuously extracted from the plastic bag 21 until the plastic bag is evacuated and collapsed. Since this is a closed system, when the plastic bag 21 is deflated, the eductor 36 can generate a reduced pressure greater t...

Abstract

A reduced pressure shut off assembly for an eductor mixing system wherein a vacuum shut off valve is activated by reduced pressure in a reduced pressure line connected to a container for a concentrate. In a preferred embodiment, an eductor and the vacuum shut off valve are positioned on top a vessel for storing a solution of the concentrate. The mixing system with the vacuum shut off valve is especially adapted to being used for mixing a chemical concentrate cleaning composition with water.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to fluid mixing devices in which a concentrated composition is drawn in and mixed with a diluent. More particularly, the present invention relates to automatic shut-off assemblies for mixing devices, wherein the shut-off assemblies are vacuum operated. Background technique [0002] Eductors are typically used to draw concentrate from a source and mix it with a diluent such as water. Problems arise when dispensing the solution when the injector is pumping the concentrate into the tank where the concentrate is diluted. If the operator does not observe the container from which the concentrate is drawn, water may be continuously drawn into the kettle without any concentrate. This creates unwanted dilutions. The shut-off valve is an automatic shut-off device that solves this problem. [0003] It is well known in the art to provide automatic shut-off devices for fluid mixing systems. One such arrangement is disclosed in US ...
