A display control device, a display control method, and a computer readable storage medium are provided. The display control device includes an acquisition unit for acquiring display information for display on a display section disposed in front of eyes of an occupant on board a vehicle; a collection unit for collecting environmental information relating to an environment of the vehicle; a computing unit configured to compute a degree of spare capacity based on the environment information collected by the collection unit, the degree of spare capacity being a degree of spare mental energy of the occupant to perform operations; and a control unit that performs control so as to prohibit output of the display information to the display section in a cases in which the computed degree of spare capacity is lower than a predetermined value.
