Abstract

A distributed power system includes a communication device and a control device. The communication device is configured to be disposed on a first vehicle of a vehicle system that further includes at least a second vehicle. The communication device is configured to transmit discovery information. The control device is configured to: be operably connected to the communication device; in response to the communication device receiving the discovery response information from the second vehicle, form configuration information sent to the second vehicle by the communication device based on the identifier of the second vehicle included in the discovery response information. The configuration information comprises an instruction for converting the second vehicle into a remote operation mode; in the remote operation mode, remote control of traction force and braking force of the second vehicle is enabled.
