Abstract

A piercing system for an aerosol-generating device may be used to form one or more openings in a hookah. A piercing system includes a piercing assembly and a shaft tube. The rod tube may be included as part of an aerosol-generating device. The piercing assembly includes a body having a through opening. The opening may be coaxial with the hollow tube of the rod tube. The piercing assembly includes a plurality of piercing elements at an upstream end thereof. The piercing element is configured for piercing the cartridge. The piercing assembly may be operated by placing the cartridge on the piercing assembly and pressing down the cartridge.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to a piercing system for piercing a cartridge used in an aerosol-generating device. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to piercing assemblies for hookah devices. Background technique [0002] Traditional hookah devices are used for smoking and are constructed so that the vapors and smoke pass through the pool before being inhaled by the consumer. The hookah device may include one outlet or more than one outlet so that the device may be used by more than one consumer at a time. Many people see hookah use as a recreational activity and a social experience. [0003] Typically, traditional hookah is used in combination with a substrate, sometimes referred to in the art as hookah tobacco, tobacco molasses, or simply molasses. Traditional hookah bases are relatively high in sugar (in some cases, up to -50%, while traditional tobacco bases (eg, combustible cigarettes) are typically -20%). Tobacco used in a hoo...
