Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a method for defining a clutch slip point position (Xsp) of a clutch (2) in a gearbox (1) wherein the gearbox comprises an input shaft (3) and wherein the input shaft is arranged to be braked by a braking device (4), the method comprising:-determining (S1) if the clutch is towed when the clutch is fully disengaged; applying (S2) a braking device having a predetermined braking torque (Tb) such that the input shaft does not rotate when clutch drag is determined; and thereafter:-moving (S3) the clutch from the fully disengaged position towards the engaged position; -determining (S4) when the input shaft begins to rotate at a predetermined rotation value indicative of a rotational speed of the input shaft; recording (S5) a clutch position (Xb) at which the clutch is positioned when the predetermined rotational value is reached; defining a clutch slip point position (Xsp) using (S6) a clutch transmission characteristic of the clutch, a predetermined braking torque (Tb) and the recorded clutch position (Xb).
