[0019] As shown in Figure 1, an electron gun generally comprises a series of electrodes arranged in succession along a longitudinal axis Z which coincides with the longitudinal axis of the cathode ray tube to which the electron gun is fixed.
[0020] The electrodes are drilled with openings 11 which serve as passages for the electron beams generated by the one or more cathodes at the bottom of the electron gun. The electrodes are connected to different potentials and the opening 11 of one electrode together with the corresponding opening of the next electrode forms an electrostatic lens which corrects the trajectory and shape of the electron beam. Therefore, the location of the electrodes is very important to ensure optimum operation of the electron gun.
