Embodiment Construction

[0028] Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 , it shows the housing of the electronic equipment applied in the present invention. It should be noted that in FIG. 2, the painted colored portion is indicated by crossed oblique lines.

[0029] In this embodiment, the housing is composed of an upper panel 1, a bottom plate not shown parallel to the upper panel 1, and a pair of side panels 2 arranged on opposite sides of the upper panel 1 and the bottom panel. Each of the upper panel 1 , the bottom panel and the side panels 2 is constituted by a metal sheet, which, as a metal sheet, has a surface coated over the entire area and which constitutes the outer surface of the housing.

[0030]A connecting edge portion 10 for connecting with the connecting edge portion 2b of one of the side panels 2 is integrally formed on the side edge of the upper panel 1 . The connecting edge portion 10 includes a first portion 10a formed in an L-shape at the side edge of the upper panel 1, a second portion ...

Abstract

A housing for an electronic apparatus includes a plurality of metal plates (1, 2) including a first metal plate (1) and a second metal plate (2) and each having a coated face coated over an overall area thereof and a non-coated face. The metal plates (1, 2) are assembled to form the housing such that the coated faces thereof are exposed as outer faces to the outside of the housing. The first metal plate (1) is bent back at a portion thereof such that the non-coated face thereof is exposed to the outside to form a contact portion (5) on a side edge of the first metal plate (1). The first metal plate (1) is coupled to the second metal plate (2) with the non-coated face of the contact portion (5) thereof held in contact with the non-coated face of the second metal plate (2) to establish electric connection between the first and second metal plates (1, 2).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a casing of an electronic device such as a server of a workstation, in particular to a casing with the function of preventing electromagnetic wave leakage. Background technique [0002] Housings for electronic equipment are sometimes required to have a function of preventing outward radiation of electromagnetic waves generated from electronic components, electronic circuits, etc. housed in the housings. To meet this need, a conventional countermeasure is to establish electrical connections at assembly locations between the plurality of metal plates constituting the housing. [0003] image 3 is a perspective view showing parts of a regular shell, while Figure 4 yes image 3 Exploded view of housing section shown. refer to image 3 with 4 , the conventional housing shown includes a base plate (not shown), an upper panel 101 mounted parallel to the base plate, and a pair of side panels 102 attached to opposite edges o...
