Abstract

The invention relates to a solid-state projection device integrating a light source, a modulator and a control circuit on a single chip. For example, a projection device may comprise several sets of VCSELs, each of which is associated with a set of MEM mirrors and connected to a control circuit. The equipment also includes various heat-resistant glass layers for sealing and turning layers. The apparatus also includes a detector associated with the light source. These detectors are useful in determining the shape and location of projection surfaces, constructing pose interfaces, and determining the maneuverability of projection elements. The invention also relates to methods of manipulating images, generating scaling, masking, inverting images, positioning and keystone correction using said device. The invention may be used in projection display devices, portable display devices, heads-up displays, retina displays, front and rear projection displays, and other display applications.
