Embodiment Construction

[0061] exist figure 1 A car park according to a first preferred embodiment of the invention is shown generally at 10 . In the present embodiment, the car park 10 is an above-ground car park, but it will be appreciated that it may be partially or fully underground in some embodiments.

[0062] The parking lot 10 includes an inner core 12 and an outer support structure 14, and includes a plurality of annular parking levels 16a, 16b, 16c, and so on. Each level includes a plurality of parking bays in the form of parking platforms, each parking bay comprising a portion of a respective annular parking level and extending between the inner core 12 and the outer structure 14 .

[0063] The parking lot 10 includes a vertical lift shaft 20 that generally includes vertically aligned gaps in each parking level 16a, 16b, etc. that correspond in width to a parking platform.

[0064] In an alternative embodiment, the liftshaft has a helical configuration in which the gap is progressively o...

Abstract

A car park (or other storage facility), comprising: a plurality of annular parking levels (16); an outer structure (14) and a central core (12) for supporting the parking levels (16); and a hoisting mechanism; wherein each of the plurality of parking levels (16) comprises a plurality of parking compartments (24 and 138) located between the outer structure (14) and the inner core (12), each of the levels is rotatable to bring a respective compartment (24 and 138) into alignment with the hoisting mechanism so that the respective compartment (24 and 138) can be detached from the respective level and raised or lowered by the hoisting mechanism. In one embodiment, the plurality of annular parking levels (16) constitutes a first parking circuit and the car park includes at least one additional parking circuit comprising a further plurality of annular parking levels, wherein the first parking circuit and the additional parking circuit are coaxial.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a parking lot or parking garage and to a storage facility. Background technique [0002] Existing multi-storey car parks provide a plurality of parking bays or platforms, each of which is usually accessible by means of a series of ramps connecting the various levels. The ramp can be substantially straight or, in some existing parking lots, helical. However, ramps waste considerable space that would ideally be used as parking bays. [0003] In some existing car parks, said problem has been solved by equipping multi-storey car parks with one or more lifts for transporting cars to the parking bays. This reduces or avoids the use of ramps. For example, CH 686896 discloses a car park comprising a shaft with radial parking bays at various levels. The parking bays at any given level form a torus. In the center of the shaft - inside the annulus - is a central shaft with a hoist for raising or lowering cars between the different le...
